My name is Aditi Tombs Curtis, I am a French-English-German translator. My family moved from England to France when I was a child, which allowed me to discover my passion for languages and translating very early. I quickly went on to learn German through a joint Abitur (German A level equivalent) and baccalaureat (French A level equivalent), then completed a B.A. in applied foreign languages complete with a year's specialisation in technical translation and interpreting at the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal in Germany.
After that, by chance I happened to start working in the IT sector where I was able to practice, amongst other skills, my transcription (for speech recognition software), technical edition/translation/proofreading/publishing (software user guides) and digital graphics (mobile apps images).
Translation however remained my first career choice and I wanted to do more of it, so I decided to go freelance!
My colleagues and clients have mentioned appreciating my speed, thoroughness and resourcefulness in the face of challenges.
